Bloomberg Businessweek Magazine has named the Town of Fort Mill as the best place to raise kids in South Carolina — and one of the top places to raise children across the nation. The magazine looked at public school performance, safety, median family income, housing costs, commute times and diversity when making the choices.
Other towns that made the list acors the Southeast include, Oviedo, Fla., Peachtree City, Ga., Holly Springs, N.C., Signal Mountain, Tenn., and Herndon, Va.
“This accolade just confirms what citizens of the town have known all along- that Fort Mill is a great place to live and raise a family,” said Fort Mill Mayor Danny Funderburk.
“Fort Mill School district is proud to be able to provide a high quality public education to the citizens of Fort Mill,” said Fort Mill Schools Superintendent Chuck Epps. “On behalf of the school board and staff we couldn’t be more pleased to have contributed to this honor.”
