[media-credit name=”BuildinRockHill.com” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]The former president of Rock Hill National Bank has died. Frank Robards, Jr. died Tuesday following a long illness. He was 82.
Robards followed in his father’s footsteps when he went into banking. His career began as an assistant trust officer and assistant cashier with Citizens and Southern National Bank in Augusta, Ga.
When he moved to Rock Hill in 1966, he became the executive vice president of Rock Hill National Bank. In 1972 he became the bank’s president.
Robards spent 25 years with the company before retiring from banking in 1991.
Funeral services for Robards will take place 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home’s Northwest Chapel.
