Authorities have arrested a Clover man in connection with a theft of nearly 20 cemetery vases from the Lakeview Memory Gardens.

42-year-old Charles Cochran was arrested Sunday afternoon on two warrants of Grand Larceny and Desecration of Graves after police say he sold the vases in late November for scrap metal.

An employee contacted authorities after he noticed 18 bronze-coated vases missing from various markers in the “T” section of the cemetery.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says Cochran sold the vases for $450.

The vases were worth $300 each. Cochran remains in jail on $25,000 bond.
