3 charged in murder of Fort Mill man in off-campus apartment near Clemson

Three men are now behind bars in the shooting death of Fort Mill man attending Clemson University.

23-year-old Steven Grich was shot to death Saturday night in the Chimney Ridge apartments. Investigators said three to four masked men came into the home through an unlocked back door and assaulted Grich and others inside. Five other people were in the home, but were not seriously injured. Investigators now believe the incident was a drug-related crime.

19-year-old Jordan Dalton, 24-year-old Jaron Dalton, and 19-year-old Bernard Ramsey are all charged with murder, armed robbery, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Pickens County Sheriff’s Deputies say the men were trying to rob Grich’s roommate of of what was thought to be a large amount of marijuana.

Deputies said only a few grams were actually taken.

Deputies said warrants have been issued for  a fourth suspect, 18-year-old Lester Mosley Jr., who investigators consider to be armed and dangerous.

Deputies said they arrested the roommate Robert McKinley once they discovered during their investigation that there were drugs in the house. McKinley was charged with simple possession of marijuana.
