Funding for the project comes from SCDOT Transportation Enhancement Porgram grants. The total cost of the project is about $187,000. Rock Hill Mayor Doug Echols hopes this project will spark community pride — and later — economic development.
City Manager David Vehaun says the project will in some way mimic recent brick signage on Dave Lyle Blvd. at Interstate 77.
