The players were there as part of the National Football League’s Play 60 campaign which is designed to tackle childhood obesity by getting kids physically active.
Gold Hill Middle School principal Terry Brewer says Gold Hill Elementary has participated in the program for several years.
Kindergarten teacher Stephanie Haecherl received a $2,500 grant from the Panthers.
Haecherl says she hopes the students got something out of the event.
Haecherl also received a signed jersey from Smith with his number and her name on the back.
