After a dismal first half of the season, Carolina Panthers General Manager Marty Hurney was fired Monday.

The team tweeted that announcement just before 10 this morning with owner Jerry Richardson saying it was an extremely difficult decision.

Coach Ron Rivera addressed the change in leadership at a press conference today, saying he learned of Richardson’s decision earlier this morning.
