Police arrested a Rock Hill man early Monday morning after they said he called 911 more than half a dozen times over a three-day period, each time saying he needed help before hanging up the phone.
After 33-year-old Tony Martin frivolously dialed 911 a fifth time just before 2 a.m. Monday, officers managed to detain him after a foot chase on Heckle Blvd. Martin was released with a written warning.
Not two hours later, officers keeping surveillance on a nearby pay phone saw Martin walk up to the phone, dial a number, and hang up again.
Martin was arrested and taken to the city’s Law Center.
