Authorities have released the name of the skydiver killed after taking a ‘hard landing’ in Chester County Sunday.

Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker says 45-year-old Clarence Huggins of Fayetteville, N.C. died at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte from trauma.

The manager of Skydive Carolina, which operates a drop zone at the Chester Catawba Regional Airport told the Rock Hill Herald Huggins’ equipment was functioning properly. Witnesses say Huggins’ parachute deployed and things went south after he attempted an advanced landing.
