An intoxicated Columbia man led Rock Hill police on nearly a 20-mile pursuit this weekend, ending with his arrest near the York-Chester County line. Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, officers clocked a man speeding down Anderson Road and attempted to pull him over.
The man led police through the York Technical College campus, through Rock Hill’s Tech Park, and down South Anderson Rd., almost causing a wreck near Springdale Rd. 53-year-old Leonard Riley then led authorities down Albright Rd., where two attempts to deploy stop sticks failed to blow his tires.
Riley then led authorities out of city limits on a 16-mile pursuit down Neely’s Creek Rd., where his tires were finally blown a third time, stopping him near Cornelious Rd. just over a mile from the Chester County line.
Riley was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Stop for Blue Lights.
