’139 Main’ condo project gaining steam in downtown Rock Hill

Plans are swiftly getting underway for a 45-unit apartment building to be built in what is now the Woolworth’s building on East Main Street in Rock Hill.

Jason Tuttle is the manager of 139 Main, the new name of the development and describes what will be under construction early next summer.

Tuttle says the project also includes needed improvement connecting Main Street and its adjacent parking lots.

The developers behind the project say they’ve recently put in an application for federal Housing and Urban Development Funding. Developers say though the apartments will be market rate and will not be specifically for low-income families.

Tuttle said that an initial application for federal funding for the project was submitted last week, a timeline established for the next several months.

Construction is set to start next summer on the project. Tuttle says the apartments will be comparable to the Legacy at Manchester Village apartments that overlook Manchester Meadows off Interstate 77.
