Echols: Rock Hill has much more than soccer for visitors, residents

Rock Hill continues to draw sports tourism participants and fans and other visitors as it prepares for the US Youth Soccer National Championships at Manchester Meadows.

Mayor Doug Echols wants to let the thousands coming here for the tournament to know, and to remind people already living here, of the many amenities offered at and near Manchester Meadows.

It’s not just sports tourism that draws visitors to Rock Hill. Echols says 9,000 visitors each month go along the 2.5-mile Riverwalk Trail that snakes along the Catawba River.

Echols says he also hears a lot about the Rock Hill monuments drivers see on Interstate 77.

The US Youth Soccer National Championship runs July 24-29.
