Byers says he was very humbled and overwhelmed by the turnout.
About five current or former National Football League players from the tri-county area put up their jerseys for auction Saturday. Byers says all of them remember where they came from and give back to their community.
Byers also told us how his treatment is coming along.
Byers says he will be at a high school football league every Friday night this season if he can.
