Economic Developers in Rock Hill say 2013 is a big year to watch as a number of long-standing projects get underway, or in some cases break ground within the city.
At the organization’s annual meeting Thursday, Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation Chairman Andy Shene said one of the big projects in the works centers around the Woolworth building on Main Street.
In late May, the RHEDC announced it had formed a subsidiary group named the Old Town Development Corporation to specifically handle the development and marketing needs of the new condominium building. Sheene says it was the right decision to make.
Shene says that recent and future additions like a sub shop and pizza parlor, while relatively small, make a big splash in revitalizing Old Town.
Shene says development is not just taking place downtown, but across the city in distribution facilities, big box stores and national retailers.
