GOP Leader gives insight into county councilman’s change of heart
It was a change of heart — or may be the urging of close friends and family — that led York County Councilman Eric Winstead this past weekend to reverse his decision to resign from County Council after a second arrest in five months last week.

York County GOP Chairman Glenn McCall says early on this weekend, Winstead seems to have been overwhelmed with attention from local media — leading him to announce his resignation. Then, says McCall, others started to change his mind.

[audio: 0522-McCall-E.mp3]McCall said that even now that Winstead has decided he will not seek another term on council, he’s still concerned that the 39-year-old ex-pastor gets professional help.

Winstead was not present at this past Monday’s council meeting.
