The owner of a small international sales and marketing agency says she will run for the 5th Congressional District seat currently occupied by Republican Mick Mulvaney of Indian Land.
Joyce Knott is a Spartanburg native who has lived in Rock Hill for the last 20 years.  Knott was a member of the John Spratt for Congress campaigns since 1992.  Spratt, a Democrat,  lost his seat to Mulvaney in 2010.

She says her priority is to get the economy moving again and create jobs.  Knott says so-called mom-and-pop stores need to be revitalized and small factories must start manufacturing again.

She says rebuilding the region at the local level can’t be done without a strong small business community.
