Panel working to re-establish SC-NC border
York County residents and officials met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the impact of reestablishing the boundary between the Block House and Old North Corner.
For almost 250 years the land surrounding the Catawba Indian Reservation was seldom thought about. But growth and development in the Charlotte and Rock Hill areas has since spurred dispute over political state boundaries.
Lancaster County Assessor Norman Anderson says he wants to know how South Carolina citizens will be affected.

But for those located on or near the newly reestablished border they could face certain setbacks.
[audio: 0214-Normananderson-D.mp3]According to officials the new survey that mandates reestablishing a modern border between North and South Carolina could affect citizens located anywhere from 100 to 200 feet from site.
State commissioners have sent out letters to 94 property owners being affected, but have only received 30 letters back.
