Chamber president pushes buy-local efforts

The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce is reminding residents how important it is for them to shop at local businesses, especially during the holiday season.

Chamber President Rob Youngblood said on Friday’s edition of Straight Talk on WRHI that a lot of people are still concerned about the economy because it hasn’t come back they way it did during previous years.

Youngblood says the holiday theme is it’s the most wonderful time of the year to buy local.

Youngblood said the buy local campaign is successful even if it only convinces one person to shop in York County instead of Charlotte.  Youngblood recalls a letter he received earlier this year from a local community leader in Fort Mill.
