Eagle Club Recognizes Chair of Scholarship Auction

The Winthrop Eagle Club recognized Dr. Sarah Harper on Tuesday for her two-year service as the chairwoman of the annual Eagle Club Scholarship Auction which reached its 20th anniversary milestone earlier this month

Dr. Harper led the Eagle Club Auction Committee’s efforts during the 2010 and 2011 auctions. The latest event which was held on May 14 raised nearly $60,000 for the Winthrop Athletics scholarship fund.

“We are very appreciative of the time that Sarah devoted over the past two years to help make our annual scholarship auction such a success,” said Sharen DuBard, director of the Eagle Club and Varsity Club. It takes a lot of Eagle fans and volunteer to help coordinate this annual event. We could not have been so successful without Sarah’s leadership and commitment,. She and her husband have been a real asset to our auction as well as true die hard fans all year. We are thrilled to have Sarah on our team at Winthrop

More than 425 guests were attendance to bid on over 400 items that were included in the silent auction, the Gallery and the Live auction.
