Come-See-Me Festival just weeks away

The 2011 Rock Hill, South Carolina Come-See-Me Festival begins in a couple weeks on Thursday, April 7th with the return of Musical Mania at Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex.

The Jewel of the Carolinas Spring market will be Friday, April 8th 9am-6pm and Saturday, April 9th 9am-5pm, featuring a variety of vendors from all over the southeast.  Purchase items such as unique clothing, specialty items, jewelry, gourmet foods, handbags, children’s clothing, collegiate items, home and garden, pottery, stationery, antiques and art, toys and much more!! For those who enjoy eating, there are plenty of events. Beginning with the Woman’s Club Café, the Pancake Breakfast, Gourmet Gardens, BBQ, No Pork Competition, BBQ Cook-off, and Glencairn Gardens Entertainment will feature food from local restaurants and cafés.  Returning “old favorites” include Beach Bash featuring Ocean Breeze, Mayor’s Frog Jump, Sundaes with Glen & Mother Goose and the Teddy Bear Tea Party.

Glencairn Garden, the birthplace of Come-See-Me, will feature daily entertainment Monday to Thursday. Entertainers include The Old Fogies, Gene Gene and the BLUE MACHINE, and Divas Through the Decades of the Stage and Screen, and Broadway Night.

The sports enthusiast will welcome the Road Race and Fun Run, The Y Tri @ the Rock, Adult & Junior Tennis Tournament, Golf Tournament, and Winthrop Baseball and Softball. Returning for our younger guests are Frog Coloring Contest, Frog Hoppin’ Fun, Jumping Jeepers Frog Crafts, Everything Trucks, Children’s Art Activities, Kid’s Carnival, and the Teddy Bear Tea Party, Musical Mania, Sundaes with Glen and Mother Goose and Frog Float.

The 10-day Come-See-Me Festival is considered the largest, all-volunteer festival in South Carolina and attracts more than 100,000 participants and visitors each year.
