Lewisville football player dies after scrimmage

Chester, SC — Tragedy struck the gridiron Friday night in Chester County.  18-year-old Bryan Colvin, a running back for Lewisville High School collapsed and died during a scrimmage in the Chester County Football Jamboree.

Colvin had just finished a run when walking back towards the huddle he fell to the ground.  Colvin, a senior, was transported to Chester Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 7:46 p.m.

Colvin had no previous medical conditions reported, an autopsy is scheduled for today.  Lewisville was playing Westminster Catawba Christian when Colvin collapsed with seizure like symptoms early in the 2nd quarter.
