The ABC News Magazine 20/20 will take an in-depth look into a unsolved York County murder. The episode, airing Friday, will investigate the death eight years ago of Melissa Huntley Motz. Motz death was first ruled a suicide after her body was found in her vehicle with a gunshot wound in 2001, but the York County Coroner at the time changed his ruling to undetermined.
James Motz, Melissa husband, has been a prime suspect in the case but according to the Fort Mill Times, former 16th circuit solicitor Tommy Pope says there were too many loose ends in the case against Motz that would not hold up in court. The case has been reopened by current York County Coronor Sabrina Gast who hopes new technology can bring more evidence to light in the death of Motz. The show airs on Friday night at 10 p.m.
